Border Collie

If it looks like he was about to jump the gun, it’s because he was. My favorite dog names are the ones that are unplanned, but end up being impossibly perfect. In almost every way imaginable, Gunner was eager and always anticipating. It’s the Border Collie way. His senses were sharp, his focus was intent (though easily distracted by a new sound or movement) and his ability to learn new commands on command was unlike anything I had ever seen. I’ve since learned that he had already added two new tricks to his repertoire, only days after us shooting.
