Each time we open our lives up to a new dog, we do so knowing that we can’t keep them forever-- that there will always come a day when one of us has to go. Little Buster came as a sweet gift in a difficult time, as his new family had recently lost their previous dog. And while Buster will never be able to replace Sally’s memory, he will surely go on to remind them of her while wading in the water for hours, sleeping on everyone’s feet and chasing crickets in the yard … just like she used to do.
