Mia. The quintessential Pit Bull Terrier, with her blue coat shining in the light and a face sweet enough to make anyone soften. We’ve come a long way with our understanding of Pit Bulls, but there is more work to be done. Mia is another important example of the ways her breed has been misunderstood. Trained to recognize an elevation in her owner’s heart rate, this gentle girl is proof that our dogs are what we teach them to be. With training, proper socialization and love, pit bulls are just as good-hearted as all of the other breeds we know and love so well.
